Top 10 NorCal Teams (Boys and Girls)

I will post the two preliminary lists sometime this week.  In the meantime, what teams do you think belong on these 2 lists?  What is the best boys' team in Northern California?  What is the best girls' team in Northern California?  What teams from NorCal are going to challenge for podium spots at the state meet?  Who are the most improved teams?  Most competitive league?  Most competitive section race?  Feel free to post your own top 10 rankings as well if you like.

Reminder that the Northern California sections are Northern Section, Sac-Joaquin Section, North Coast Section, Central Coast Section, San Francisco Section and Oakland Section.

  1. Bella Vista's (SJS) girls team has a lot of rising talent and they are coming off a great track season

  2. St. Francis (SJS) girls team #1

  3. Bellarmine for boys, always the top Nor Cal in the varsity D1. All others are JV compared to them.

Aptos Girls. A hiccup last season at State but with the new freshman they are getting this year could win State.

  5. Who is Aptos getting for freshman girls?

    Why does everyone hate Campolindo?

  6. Bellarmine #1 just like that? What about DeLaSalle? I hate to be an advocate for the spartans but they're bringing some pretty heavy firepower to the table, returning 6 of 7 including Hurlock. At the very least, Bellarmine doesn't make them look "JV".

  7. De La Salle is definitely a contender for the top team in NorCal. Hurlock, Schumann and Williams are a pretty tough trio at the front of their varsity pack.

  8. For "now" from Sac Joaquin - St Francis and Davis Sr. for "All NorCal" Girls Teams.

Do agree that Bella Vista is a team to keep an eye on - so is Vista Del Lago and Granite Bay. Oakridge has a solid group - just missing that break away runner to compete with St Francis and Davis Sr.

  9. Bellarmine beat Carlmont by an average time of 00:00:01 at Fresno last year. Not exactly definitive and certainly not JV.

  10. The Carlmont boys have proven in the past decade that they will be a force to be reckoned with at CCS (at Crystal Springs or Toro Park).

  13. Walt (Wilcox) is the guy that does the list and I don't expect him to do it until closer to the start of the season. So everyone else should chime in with their evaluations here.
