6th place for Shannon Rowbury in Olympic 1500m.

Shannon improves her own mark for best finish by an American woman in the 1500m.  Congrats!

More bad luck for Morgan Uceny in a world class 1500m. as you will see below.

  2. That fall is on her. That's what you get in a race that goes out in 76. She knew the risk, it happened to her last year. Bad tactics.

  3. Hey Albert, If you're wondering how many distance medals the US women got, that would be 0.

  4. That would be correct about the women. I thought they had a shot at a couple of medals but things didn't work that way.

As for Uceny's fall, very unlucky. It happened to Jim Ryun, Lasse Viren, El G. etc. Just part of the game.

  7. That's what many people are speculating. The thing is who can you name that is without a doubt clean of doping? Sad but true.

  8. I was bummed about our women distance runners' performance, but they actually did better overall than in Beijing if you look deeper than the number of medals. We had 11 women in Finals in Beijing, but 13 in London. Of the women who made the finals, two DNFd in each Olympics. The average finishing place of women who made Beijing finals was about 13th, while it was 10.5 in London.
