NCS Pre-Season Rankings (revised)

From David Taylor of xcnation.com:
Following a full review of individual team, track and cross country metrics the pre-season rankings are final.  They consitute 20% of the overall available score with the additional 80% being allocated based upon in-season performance.  The maximum score available in the pre-season score is .2000.

  1. I appreciate the work that went into these rankings and the multiple revisions that followed. However, I would still like to see a detailed analysis done by someone with some insight into our section, and not just a number that doesn't really mean much to a majority of the people visiting this site. Specific division rankings are fine with me considering when it comes down to it the only teams that will matter are the teams in your division.

  2. Along with these rankings, I have posted pre-season rankings for Divisions III, IV and V. Division II will be on the way as well as Division I by Jason Oswalt.

  3. Will there be a list of impact freshmen? This could really impact the ranking. I know DLS is getting a transfer (not a freshmen) who came last year but was not eligible to compete. Sorry his name escapes me.

  5. Walt Van Zant does an amazing job ranking all the CCS teams. I will post the link to his rankings once they are complete.

  6. FYI - Walt doesn't do Rankings, he only does "Comparisons".

  7. We appreciate feedback, and any ideas to make our database more fine tuned, thanks to some great insight we adjusted the formula from ranking teams by "team" to "Individuals" and they finally came out the way that makes sense, the same formula is applied across the board, please email me directly with input, assistance, and suggestions to make 2012 the best year ever for cross country.
    Respectfully,
    David Taylor

  8. It's been a while since Division III rankings have been posted. Are DII and DI rankings going to show up anytime soon?
