  1. For the twilight relays... I don't know about anyone else, but I can't see the results because google docs says I need permission... any way to change that or something?

  2. EBI is showing just girls results?

  3. Any idea why East Bay Invite results are cut off at the bottom?

  4. Not sure why the East Bay results are showing up like that. For now, email me (albertjcaruana@gmail.com) and I will send you the complete results.

  5. Grand total of 22 records at EBI!

    Girls
    9- 2 Cal, 2 OakTech, 1 AV,1 LsLom, 1 Amer, 1 SRV, 1 Pitt

    Boys
    13- 5 AV, 4 SRV, 1 Cal, 1 LosAlt, 1 Nrthgt, 1 Liv

    Most Impressive?

Either SRV's 10:25 DMR and 8:00 4x800m, Matt Esparza's 56-10.5 Shot Put, or Madison Ricks' 5:06 mile. All are extremely good marks for this early in the season and the DMR and Shot Put are most likely close to state leaders at this point.

  7. I would prefer to see the results with my own eyes but I agree a 10:25 this early in the season is impressive. Dis anyone there track who ran the splits and their times?

  15. SRV's DMR was definitely impressive to say the least. I have a feeling that most of those athletes are going to be making a big splash come the post season. Esparza's shot put and Nick Bayley's 400 were also quite good. AV will be there til the very end as well. Stoked to see what happens at EBAL Finals this year, it should be very exciting.

  16. SRV broke meet records in both the V-boys DMR and V-Boys 4x800. Impressive performances in both races but there is plenty more to come.

  17. Yes, SRV's middle distance squad is probably one of the best in NorCal. It will be interesting how far they will carry their team against some very strong sprint squads from DLS and AV.

  18. Any heat sheets for Gabor or KBell. These are big meets and we can't even get a schedule or find a website. Come on guys...

  19. The deadline for the Dan Gabor meet is Wednesday at 5:00pm. How can they post the heats before they have all the entries?

  20. K-Bell closed last night at 8:00pm and they are cleaning up the entries (juniors being put if FS race, etc).

  21. The Dan Gabor Meet is an early season meet and people may have only run their first races last weekend. Because of this, we like to keep our entry deadline open as long as possible so that people can submit the most up to date information they have. We are a very inclusive meet by design (sign up and you get to run) and athletes new to the sport might have mile times change by 10 or more seconds in just a couple of weeks, so the longer we wait, the better job those coaches can do at seeding their athletes. Following practice tomorrow, we will figure out the heats and heat sheets will be made available shortly thereafter. We have a lot of entries so far and the meet promises to be another good one. Coaches, get those last minute entries in and we look forward to seeing everyone this Friday and Saturday. But I agree, the K-Bell meet should definitely have their heat sheets up by now. What are they doing over there?

Dear Coach Ozzie et al: Of the nearly 2000 entries to the K-Bell (run similarly to the Dan Gabor, in that if you sign up you are in) over 200 were incorrectly entered by their coaches...it is taking a little while to sort out. We extended the entry deadline by 48 hours to MOnday night for similar reason to the ones you state, and still we have received over 100 late entries, which we have accepted so that more athletes get in. Remember, every dime raised by K-Bell goes to charity (through the auspices of the Kiwanis), so the more athletes that compete the more people we can help! Sorry that the heat sheets aren't available, but the K-Bell info is linked on Hank's site. Godd luck and good health to all this season! Coach Patrick McCrystle

  23. Relax Coach Ozzie, why do you care? Worry about your own meet. The KBell people do a great job every year. Not sure why some of you are stressing out about heat
sheets. Do you have to strategize after you see who's in your heat/flight?
Remember the old days when you had to mail in or fax the entries and wait until you arrive at the meet to see who's competing. It's not that big of a deal to
    wait another day or two!!!

  24. The gloves are coming off between the two big Nor Cal meets this weekeend! I love it!

Seriously though, I don't take things so seriously but I think Ozzie was being sarcastic because he knows K-Bell is another large meet with tons of entries. Hard to tell in written text though.

I think Gabor should have a general time schedule though, that is probably what the parent (I am assuming) is fired up about. As far as I know K-Bell has this.

  25. I believe coach Ozzie and everyone else who is expressing an interest in the K-bell heat sheets is doing so strictly out of an eagerness to see who will be racing and what times they are projected at. I fully believe that everone here is anticipating the results of both meets (Dan Gabor and K-bell) so as to see where runners are at this point of the season. I do not think any true animosity is felt towards anyone at this point. That being said; Let's see some heat sheets guys!!!

  26. I guess it was unclear that I was joking when I was critical of the K-Bell meet management. They have run one of the best meets in the Bay Area since farther back than when I was in high school. That won't change this year.

  27. You didn't know? No one is allowed to say anything negative about Bellarmine. The evil empire rules all here in the ccs.
