Just noticed Karlie Garcia Ran 17:34 at Frogtown. I looked up the fastest times and I believe she beat the course record by 30 seconds. Is that right? Does anyone know for sure?
Close but no cigar. In 2002 Caitlin Chock ran 17:19 at Sub Sections and Rachel Bryan ran 17:25. These are the two fastest Sub-section Girls times since 2000, but may not be the course record as other invitationals are run on this course. Remember, the way the SJ Section is set-up, many do not run their hardest as it is an easy qualifier for the elite individuals and teams.
The Frog Town course has changed over the years too... I think about 2004 or so they lengthened the course to what it is today. The times from earlier are around 40 seconds fast as far as I can tell.

ReplyDeleteI know someone has posted the fastest times on that course before. Maybe somebody can help us with a link?
ReplyDeleteI would agree that sub-sections are just a qualifying race and most teams race that meet as easy as possible while still qualifying.
