How do you like Jeff Bickert now??!! The NCS Division 1 winner on your 2nd team All NCS team? Seriously? 18th overall today, beating some very talented boys, just like last year. This kid flies under the radar apparently.
ReplyDelete^^ Huh? Everyone knew about Jeff Bickert buddy...
ReplyDeleteAs in years past, before I was compiling the lists, the 1st team All NCS teams were based purely on time.
ReplyDeleteBickert ran a heck of a race yesterday and was the 2nd fastest NCS runner overall. I think that performance speaks for itself.
Does anyone know who is going where in terms of postseason meets? Did anyone turn down an NXN spot and opt to go to FLW instead?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's been announced officially yet. But you'd be crazy to turn down a spot in NXN for a shot a Footlocker that you might get.
ReplyDeleteLooks like lots of the girls turned down NXN: Grabill, Billimeyer, Baxter, Carol, etc. Crazy. I would love to know why that decision was made?
ReplyDeleteWay more history with Footlocker if you are an individual. Realistically NXN is still a team event.
ReplyDeleteTop 4 girls plus Grabil and Orders not running NXN. It seems FL girls race is stronger based on the completed regionals.
ReplyDeleteOne other thing to consider is it gets pricey for families to travel up to Portland to cheer for their kids with less than a week's notice...
All true, just the way I see it a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
ReplyDeleteI see on the Footlocker website is a list of participants but it is all races combined. Do you know if there is a list for just the seeded races. Nacouzi is on list of participants entered btw.
ReplyDeleteThe Nike machine keeps rolling. I agree that you should take a sure shot but at least on the girls side Footlocker is THE place to be. I have been lucky enough to have athletes qualify for both and I must say that I 100% agree that footlocker is the INDIVIDUAL Championship while Nike is the TEAM. At least for a little while longer anyways...
ReplyDeleteThe tough part with FL West is these CA kids have a really long season. The other regions have their state meet, two weeks later regionals, two weeks later nationals. CA kids have league, sub-section, section, state, FL West, Nats. Plus Mt. Sac and all the other duals and league meets and invites. LONG season for these kids!
