So what was the most impressive performance during the entire two days? Individual and/or team.
I was only there from about 7:30pm to 10:45pm Friday night but watching Lisa Koll set the Collegiate WORLD record for the 10k was amazing!
ReplyDeleteLOL watching my daughter PR was pretty amazing too!
Shawn Sumpter
None were the MOST impressive but some good marks were put up by former CCS runners. Good to see Williams still got it in the 100 meters.
ReplyDeleteI still remember watching Bob Kennedy when he made his 10K debut at Stanford. You have to be a true distance fan to appreciate somebody clicking off 66s for 25 laps.
ReplyDeleteThat San Ramon 4x800-whipping was pretty awesome. Definitely Arcadia favorites, on my book.
ReplyDeleteSan ramon 4x800 = crazy
ReplyDeletewas that 7:51 by san ramon a national leading time?
ReplyDeleteWatching Villhauer, Byers and Olson battle it out in 3k was exciting, with Villhauer showing amazing kick in last 200m. Also, same race, amazing performance from Albany kid who lost his shoe after about a half a lap and ran with one shoe on and one shoe off for remaining 6+ laps!!!
ReplyDeleteSaw somewhere that 7:51 is national leader but need confirmation.
ReplyDeleteCasa Girls DMR of 12:08 is third in State... Great performance!
ReplyDeleteSan Ramon's 7:51.79 4x800m mark beat the previous nation leading time of 7:53.36 by Conroe Texas.
ReplyDeleteMost impressive was San Ramon's 4x800 by far....but what was also impressive was Nick Bailey from Amador Valley who is a sophomore and ran the open 400 in 49.85 and its his first year doing track and field...thats impressive!
ReplyDeleteHow about Woodside sophomore Chris Washura. The third heat winner in the mile 4:23 and a 1:56 split to anchor his team to a win (8:02) in the 2nd heat of the 4 X 800 three hours later.
ReplyDeleteAgreed on Chris. He's an impressive sophomore with a great kick which is a huge advantage for a distance runner.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely one of the rising stars in CCS.
San Ramon is the real deal, the tradition just continues. Hunter deserves some serious credit.
ReplyDeleteTim does a great job at SRV.
ReplyDeleteLots of new visitors to this site so if you haven't checked out the interview I did with Tim a few years ago, here it is.

I'm pretty sure SR's second runner in the 4x800 was a soph, too. Huge, but a soph.
ReplyDeleteThat is correct, Parker Duelle is indeed a massive sophmore.
