As always, please feel free to comment on the above rankings. It's possible I could have overlooked a runner (or two) so let us all know who else belongs on the lists.
What has Nathanael Litwiller run this year?
ReplyDeleteAre these in order?
ReplyDelete(and on behalf of Monte Vista, thanks for the continued faith in Bhavik Kanzaria, some people dont seem to realize he's been coming off of injury)
Watch out for Isabel Andrade from Petaluma. New to the sport this year ran 14th in D-2 race at Stanford. Improving every week.
ReplyDeleteYeah, Litwiller has not run well during the regular season. I know he ran a 14:57ish at the firecracker 5k (more like 3.05) over the summer, which is entirely flat and paved, but still that's pretty impressive. But as everything stands right now, NCS DII is going to be a dual meet between Petaluma and De La Salle with a few other scorers thrown in.
ReplyDeleteI believe I saw Litwiller in an earlier invitational but can't remember which one...possibly Ed Sias. He is very talented and have to think he will be up there again at the end of the year.
ReplyDeleteYes I tried to rank the runners in order.
I saw Isabel Andrade run at Stanford and she was very impressive. The Division II field for the girls is very tough with the Carondelet girls, Jacque Taylor and Diana George.
you have the same picture for the lockert twins. ; )
ReplyDeleteYou mean they don't wear the same number at the races to confuse people? :D
ReplyDeleteBad copy and paste job on my part.
All fixed now.
Litwiller did not run at ed sias
ReplyDeleteCorrect.
ReplyDeleteLitwiller ran at the DLS/Carondelet meet.
44 Litwiller, Nathaneal 11 Clayton Valley 16:53.00
I agree
ReplyDeleteLitwiller has not done well this year
The sixth spot should go to Will Forrester of De La Salle or Cole Yungert of Petaluma
The under the radar is not really meant as a 6th spot but rather reserved for a runner that might not be getting the accolades at this point but could impress at the NCS MOC.
ReplyDeleteLitwiller finished 5th in the Division II race last year running 16:00. On the track, he ran 4:21.61 and 9:46.9h. Despite his unimpressive run at the DLS/Car. meet, in my opinion, I have to believe he will be there at the end.
Is there ever going to be a top ten individual list before NCS instead of five?
ReplyDeletei wouldnt count Litwiller out either. BVAL has some strong individuals with him, Landrum, and surprisingly Manny Rin. who had a strong race beating all the De La Salle runners at their dual meet.
ReplyDeletewhy do rankings even matter for individuals? cross country is a team sport. in the york video joe newton even implied that the 5th man is the more important than the #1 runner. lets have rankings for the 5th man from strong NCS teams, that would be more valuable. - ejj
ReplyDeletewhat were Kanzaria's track times? how well did he before his injury?
ReplyDelete9 Kanzaria, Bhavik 11 Monte Vst/nc 9:41.35
ReplyDeleteAt NCS MOC for Track in the 3200.
What races are the D2 contendors in this weekend?
ReplyDeleteI am assuming many will be running at the Castro Valley Invitational tomorrow at Canyon MS.
ReplyDeleteAmador Valley, Monte Vista and San Ramon Valley are also hosting the 1st Annual Tri-Valley Harrier Classic at Shadow Cliffs Regional Park. Those are all Div. I teams and I have no idea who is attending this event.
Serra is also hosting the Crystal Springs Invitational tomorrow but that is mostly attended by CCS schools. With all the rain today, that event is probably up in the air right now.
Hey Al-
ReplyDeleteIt's Andrew Schreiber from over at LL. We're all set to go to Crystal tomorrow, but your latest post makes me a bit nervous about the meet. Will they possibly cancel the meet?
I just checked with Bob Rush who takes care of the Crystal Springs course and he said the meet is still on. It's not supposed to rain again tonight or tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThe course can handle a lot of rain at this time since it's been so dry.
Thanks, Al! See you tomorrow?
ReplyDeletedeer valley wins the castro valley invite today taking 3,11,12,13,14!!! great job guys!
ReplyDeletei believe that manny rin of deer valley should definitely be mentioned in the rankings somewhere based on his race at castro valley, beating out 2 of the top 5 of D1. i saw him today have a strong race today.
ReplyDeleteManny Rin and Deer Valley deserve to move up in the next rankings posted. Nice run all around for the team.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know the order of the Deer Valley runners at the Castro Valley Invite? Rin was 3rd but who was 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th.
ReplyDeletePlease post here. Thanks.
the order of deer valley was manny rin, ryan devito, adrian gallo, nate baker, mason livingston
ReplyDeletecongrats to your Division 1 boy under the radar pick Bhavik Kanzaria for winning the 2nd EBAL Center meet. Dmitry 2nd and Shawn Daut 3rd.
ReplyDeleteTeam wise Amador takes 3-5-7-8-9-(11) for 32 points.
does anyone have the results for that meet?
ReplyDeleteill get them tomorrow morning...ill post them.

ReplyDeleteResults from EBAL 2 on behalf of the MV site.
well it is hard to say becuase he isnt going to do his very best in the beginning of the season he applies himself towards the end of the season thats when it really counts so i would say litwiller is definetly not out he will definetly be up there
