Those times at the Lowell Invitational, although it was a shorter course than usual, makes it clear that Bellarmine is the runaway winner of WCAL barring any injuries. I think the teams to watch this year are Riordan and St. Ignatius. Both had down years last year and weren’t in the discussion. But track season was a bit different. E.J. Odocayen had a very strong track season, and the Murtagh brothers were good too. They’ll have more depth this year for sure. As for St. Ignatius, they had several runners break 5 during track season, and expect them to have a boost in sophomore Liam Milby. They could challenge Riordan for 3rd this year for sure.

I still think that the final standings will go 1. Bellarmine 2. St. Francis, but it will be closer between 2 and 3 than it has been in a while. They might lack the depth of the Bells but they will be ready to produce some very close races. Speaking of graduates: St. Francis sends all 4 of their top seniors to DI track programs including Texas A&M, Cornell, Cal Poly SLO, and Boston College. Congrats to them and to Phil Pompeii on some great teams over the past few years and for developing a quality program that produces athletes that are ready for the next level.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31292861.post-5814653553884387852019-08-11T10:43:29.703-07:002019-08-11T10:43:29.703-07:00Bellarmine returns one of the best teams in Califo...Bellarmine returns one of the best teams in California and St. Francis will continue to have a very strong team and should be the Bells closest challengers.

You can check out some of the top teams in California that have been posted already including St. Francis at this link:
https://ca.milesplit.com/series/1859Albert Caruanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14434646351717864405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31292861.post-11472146408129525662019-08-10T21:40:15.428-07:002019-08-10T21:40:15.428-07:00I'd tell him to be way more worried about favo...I'd tell him to be way more worried about favorable conditions at Crystal because, on a warm Indian Summer afternoon, those CCS team auto times can become a really risky proposition.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31292861.post-80144760111007977622019-08-10T11:19:11.176-07:002019-08-10T11:19:11.176-07:00Does the WCAL meet have taco trucks? Bellarmine boys are looking unstoppable--and they are all juniors too!--WCAL should be a fun race to watch this year, although I think St Francis will not be Bellarmine's toughest competition. Stepping up to the challenge should be Junipero Serra. Roomer has it they have several star freshmen coming in, as well as a star junior transfer from Colorado. This in addition to excellent coaching only leaves room for a massive rauckus the boys can make in the league. Very excited for this season! Good luck to all of the boys (and girls too i guess-although my son is a boy) in CCS!!Dougnoreply@blogger.com
