ReplyDeleteGaskell, Yabu, and Robey with blazing fast times at HVP this early in the season. Wow
ReplyDelete3 runners that could potentially break into the top 10 at state.
ReplyDeleteHow tough is DFAL boys this year? Not only does it have several of the top NCS D3 boys, but Dougherty Valley's Braganza in D1 and Dublin's Surapaneni in D2 could be challenging for NCS titles too...
ReplyDeleteGaskell/Yabu race was epic with Gaskell nipping Yabu by 0.4 seconds at the line.
ReplyDeleteIf you look back at results from past section and state meets, the DFAL has done extremely well.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have the Artichoke schedule?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Cooper Teare for placing first in the first TCAL league meet and to Kiera Marshall, Emily Perez, and Beatrice Levy for claiming the top 3 spots in their race! Also, congratulations to their teams for winning the first dual meets of the season!

ReplyDeleteNo. I don't know if Cooper Teare will be there.
8:50 PM, according to my sources St. Joes boys didn't win both...you might want to review the results
ReplyDeleteWhat's up with TCAL/WACC results?
ReplyDeleteWACC can be found on athletic.net usually (here is yesterday's league meet at Hayward HS) http://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/Results/Meet.aspx?Meet=110523#904
ReplyDeleteI know most people care about varsity only, but the JV results are a few minutes slower than they should be for some reason.
Also, my sources confirm that the St. Joe's var boys did not win yesterday.
St. Joe's Varsity Girls took 1st place at the league meet. 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place.
ReplyDeleteCassidy Haskell is the Real Deal. Can't wait to see her in NOV.
ReplyDeleteLmao @ SJND
ReplyDeleteJust saw the entry list for the seeded race at next week's Clovis Invitational and it looks like it could be a race with some historic talent. The starting line will be packed with state and nationally ranked schools as well as some nationally ranked individuals. Though runners aren't yet peaking, on paper, a considerably more deep field than even the D1 state championship. Just a few of the big teams in alphabetical order; Arcadia, California, Claremont, Dana Hills, Davis, Great Oak, Jesuit, Madera South, King, Southlake Carroll (TX), Ventura and West Ranch. Top teams across D1, D2 and D3, as well as nationally ranked Carroll out of Texas. I will definitely be making the drive down to Woodward park for this showdown. Not a whole lot of NorCal representation, but will be nice to see which teams and individuals come out on top.

Thank you very much. I just answered my own question but appreciate the replies.
ReplyDeleteIs San Luis Obispo D3 or D4? They ran D4 at Stanford. It seems like quite a few schools ran outside of their divisions.
ReplyDeleteI checked the tentative divisions for SS and San Luis Obispo is indeed in Division III. That is definitely against the rules. Running in a higher division is OK however.
ReplyDelete@ Albert, 8:07. Huge disadvantage for the Div 4 boys teams (@Stanford) to have a strong D3 entry in their race. Were there to many teams entered on D3 to accommodate them all? O'Dowd Boys ran D2..they're considerably smaller, would have made better sense to have a smaller D3 school run D4, if there was a full entry issue, or move teams appropriately. Many teams that are normally D2 will run D3 at Clovis with only 4 divisions. I hear the southern section is undergoing a reorganization of their divisions. Will that have an effect on the state races? Will the division sizes of all sections be more similar to the northern breakdowns or will the northern and central sections still have to compete against much larger schools from the south?
ReplyDeleteIn some meets they allow teams to use school size rather than your section's assigned division. I don't know if that's the case for Stanford/SLO, but it sometimes changes entries for northern CA schools in SoCal races.
ReplyDeleteFor Clovis Invite: D1 2300 +; D2 1750-2299; D3 1000-1749; D4 1-999
