    Didn't Sean Davis finish one place behind McGhee in Sections? Why is he not even on the list for third team?

    Sean Davis did finish in 4th place last year at the CCS finals, one place behind Jason McGhee. His season best time last year was 1:55.78. I agree that he should at least be considered for the 3rd team.

    Having some experience in seeing these kids compete, I think Ashraf Mathkour is the NCS person to beat, though not by much. Last year was his first year running the 800M and did very well. Very good finishing speed having been a 400M runner. With a 100% commitment to track this year and running XC last fall, I can see him running a low 1:52 or better. He, Ortolan and Williams should make for a great NCS race. All three are very talented and this year's NCS final is anybody's to win. Good luck and good health to all three kids this spring!

    Anthony Ortolan and College Park HS are in Pleasant Hill (-- the "northern version" of Pleasanton!)

    As for the NCS MOC race in the 800m., that is going to be a great one. All three runners mentioned should all get under the at-large mark of 1:54.23. Who are the contenders for the last state meet qualifying spot in the 800m.?

    Word on the street is CP has another sub 2 800 guy who ran his time at a practice. He should be golden for a 1:55 and lower.

    Parker from SRV went 1:56 last year as a soph...he should go sub-1:55 in the 800, I'm guessing.

    Pretty good range for Deuel last year as a sophomore:
    800m. 1:57.02
    1600m. 4:17.30
    3200m. 9:22.43
