So, Al, how do your mid-season individual rankings hold up now that we are approaching NCS? I have seen lots of "Boy" talk but not much on the Girls.

Looking at my pre-season rankings for the individual girls, there are some obvious changes with an influx of talented freshmen. Both Division I, II and possibly IV races could be won by freshmen. As in the past, many freshmen girls have made a huge impact on their teams but this is one of the better classes of girls in recent memories. It should make for some fierce competition in Track.

How come Eureka and Montgomery are faster than de la Salle?
ReplyDeleteEureka, Montgomery and De La Salle are all pretty close and that should make for an interesting Division II race on Saturday. I picked the two teams ahead of De La Salle because Eureka returns a lot of experience from last year'srace and Montgomery was impressive in their league final staying close to Maria Carrillo.

For everyones information. Saint Mary's girls sat out their number four runner at league due to an injury. Also, the Piedmonts Boys team sat out their number three runner at the league meet. Mixes things up a bit.

ReplyDeleteI think that De La Salle is cheated in these Division II rankings. They should be at least number 2, and they aren't that far off Petaluma. I think that come NCS De La Salle will surprise some people.
