They may have been a bit tired for the EBAL, but maybe not. Coach Hunter does a great with his kids and I trust running the Primo's run is just another training workout. Road race or not, many of the kids may have done their Sunday run on the asphalt/packed dirt Iron Horse Trail. Given the team's consistent success over the years, I'm inclined to give the Coach more credit some on this board. <br /><br />Christine Bayliss is only a freshman. It is much more difficult to make up a list than to comment on one. Needless to say, many top runners did not run at Clovis or any other invitational the past couple of weeks. Many of the newer talents are still progressing and it will take until November to have a better feel for those injured and out, those truly having arrived, and those still climbing. Perhaps this would be a better breakout..Those who have arrived, those still climbing, below the radar and those injured and/or out. #1, #2, #3 changes from week to week, race to race and can generally be argued by almost anyone. Only the results...Who cares what their training is? Only the results matter. Some people race better on more milage and others on less - maybe if she added on miles she would actually do worse, maybe not. Everyone has different training strategies and what it should come down to is race results.<br /><br />Also, I agree with Albert - the latest race should have the most priority. If someone is sick or has a bad race. Oh well. They can prove themselves at the next meet. In the end how they do at state is all that really matters anyway. My understanding is she keeps her mileage to about half the mileage that certain others train. My point is that she is really a very good talent even while training less than others. I posted that list last night so this weekend's meets take priority over other meets if there were comparable runners.<br /><br />As an example, Madeleine Ankhelyi defeated Nikki Hiltz at Stanford head to head 17:18 to 17:24. Ankhelyi ran 17:53 at Woodward Park while Niltz ran 17:04 at Crystal Springs. That converts to about 17:24 on the Woodward Park course.<br /><br />I can make changes if they are necessary. You can't compare one weekend's race times and title it Top Individuals. You have to look at the entire season.
