Reason Football takes a Huge hunk out of Smaller Programs, then you have Water Polo getting much into club sports throughout year. For example if you have a Student Body of 800 and split that in 400 on the Boys side and anywhere from 130 to 150 are out for Football then anywhere from 30 to 50 kids in water polo there goes half of your boys student body then your scraping for Boys! Girls on the other hand usually fight club soccer and smaller sports based on Numbers some coaches are stepping up for the Ultimatum so they can build a team! Larger schools have much better success and consistency because they have more to grab from. Programs like Albert's who fight those situation on numbers do well in there respected divisions! CCS is Quite Small compared to other section but does Quite well! It started with some idiot stating that he thought "The obsession on the teenage girls on this site from grown men is creepy." Both the boys and the girls deserve attention. There is nothing creepy about the attention the girls receive except in the mind of that individual who also inferred some sort of perversion on the part of someone he observed massaging girls. So the boys should be running 1:47/3:58/8:40 every year if they were trying? I dont see the boys in CCS even comming close to sub 4:10 every year. Let alone multiple people running it while winning State Finals like Maxewell and Hiltz. I'm not sure what any of this is about. Now we're disrespecting Miguel's HUGE season because its not mentioned in a thread about returning CCS runners. I'd definitely put him #1 waaaay ahead of Edwards, and he's got to be a favorite for the podium at state. At the school my son attends, volleyball gets many top female athletes in the fall because they're ranked very high- but for the boys there's no football for various reasons, so fewer boys are drawn away from XC. I don't know if that's true across NCS nor if it contrasts with CCS, but it's one thing that could happen. If girls XC is really the top girls fall sport for many CCS teams, that would explain *some* of the CCS dominance.Nilsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31292861.post-69399844494610302072013-07-02T05:50:52.585-07:002013-07-02T05:50:52.585-07:00Top girls should be running 2:02, 4:35, 9:50 EVERY...Top girls should be running 2:02, 4:35, 9:50 EVERY YEAR? Now the girls you are mentioning here are on another level, we agree on that, but in general girls are less competitive and the field has less depth. Top girls should be running 2:02, 4:35, 9:50 every year. Top boys are running 4 flat, a 4:40 for females is a lesser equivalent. Fact is more percentage of boys do sports thus its just harder. Nothing wrong with that. But you all are obsessed with the ladies, which as already been said is probably because it is easier to be successful. <br />If you want me to call out what Ive seen I can but don't think it's appropriate here. I think most coaches would say its much more of a challenge to keep the girls healthy on a yearly basis than the boys. This was a historic year for the ladies. 2013/14 may be even better. Who cares about our reason for commenting on the girls. Why don't you just spill the beans about all the creepy stuff you've seen. I'd argue that most of the girls who made the list will remain high on it for 100 years. This was the deepest year in section history, and not even close for the boys. I would be fair to say that this is one of CCS's weakest returning class for the boys top to bottom.
