Interview with Flintridge Prep boys coach, Ingrid Herskind

http://ca.milesplit.com/articles/167422-interview-with-flintridge-prep-boys-coach-ingrid-herskind

One of the top Division V programs in California. They are heavy favorites to win the state meet this year after demolishing the field at the Mt. SAC Division V sweepstakes race. The FP boys have had 14 podium finishes which tie them with McFarland for most top 3 finishes with 14. They will surpass that mark this year.

"This is Luis Grijalva of Armijo and Benjamin Holland of Jesuit leading the Large School Varsity Boy's Race which Grijalva pulled out in a meet record time and the 4th fastest time in Willow Hill history. Very impressive showing by the two juniors who were the only runners to go sub-16. We got a short burst of thunder showers in the middle of the night which settled the notorious dust and after a week of 90+ temps, the races were run in a ideal low 60s."

Cate Ratliff, Santa Cruz runs 16:42.5 at Crystal Springs Invite and Aptos girls just miss team time record

It's the 2nd fastest time on the course trailing only Ellen Lyons' mark of 16:30.6 which was established in 1979 at the Kinney Western Regional race.

In the same race, the Aptos girls just missed the team time mark set by Carlmont in 2007 (91:20). The Aptos girls ran 91:23 today missing the mark by a mere 3 seconds. Watch out for them at CCS and state. (photos below courtesy of Andrew Hutchinson)

Updated CCS Time Comparisons by Walt Van Zant (10/5/15)

The CCS rankings as voted on by CCS coaches can be found here:
http://lynbrooksports.prepcaltrack.com/ATHLETICS/XC/2015/ccs_rank.htm

You can also check out CCS rankings at http://ca.milesplit.com/. The 3 mile rankings are a bit skewed due to our 1st league meet at San Bruno Mountain marked as a 3 mile course (actually 2.8 miles). The 5k rankings are pretty solid and a good reflection of the top teams in CCS.

I will have a Crystal Springs Serra Invite preview posted on Friday.
