How are these teams decided? And has the girl's teams been published yet? If so, what is the link?

And is this different from the All- Santa Clara County teams? Or is this the same thing.

That's the 2010 team. I will link to the all CCS list above but can't find the girls at the moment.

You need to turn the wording for ALL CCS since the Mercury does not publish all Teams in the Newspaper it looks like quite a few runners and schools are not represented even though they sell their Newspaper every where! Sure do Miss the Good old days when you knewwhat was going on in the entire Central Coast Section!

The San Jose Mercury News "runner of the year" is for Santa Clara County. The Mercury News has smaller outlet papers in Los Gatos, Palo Alto (the peninsula), Milpitas, etc. and as far as I know those papers have separate "runner of the year" honors.

The Santa Cruz, Monterey, San Francisco, Salinas papers also have similar honors.

The ALL-Mercury News Teams should be represented by either the entire CCS or just Santa Clara County but as you probably notice it appears that it is Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties only.

If you study the SJMN selections as posted in the MN today, it appears that they limited their selections to runners attending schools in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties.

They apparently chose the fastest finisher from these counties at the State Meet as their Runner of the the Year.

They then listed the top 34 finishers in time order at the CCS Meet as their first two teams and 20 honorable mentions.
