At 50, Joy Upshaw of Lafayette is a track master

Great article in today's San Francisco Chronicle about current Gunn HS/Acalanes HS coach, Joy Upshaw (former Cal Berkeley coach as well).  She is also still competing in Track and Field at the age of 50.  Thanks to Gunn HS Ernie Lee for the link.  Picture below courtesy of Laura Morton.

With all the talk about outside coaches, I wonder if it's OK that someone is coaching at 2 high schools in the same season. Even if they are in different sections it still seems like a conflict. Do Gunn and Acalanes not have coaches for the jumps?

Coach Joy had been the sprint coach at Gunn for the past four years until she moved to Lafayette. This season, she has generously volunteered to help out with our sprinters one day a week (and with a team of over 180 kids, we can use all the help we can get).
