Is anything really politically correct now?

It's the Leland Chargers so I guess they were playing off that for the headline.

Another story from Ed Sias (which perhaps belongs with the earlier Ed Sias coverage) is the strength of the Granada girls team, apart from the big boost they got from Sophie Hartley. Their 2 and 3 runners were already very good ... and 2 thro 5 all posted solid improvements from Ed Sias last year. Without Sophie, they would still have been 4th.

In the pre-season rankings for NCS Division I, Jason Oswalt had the Granada girls ranked 3rd behind College Park and Monte Vista.

You can check out his rankings here:

This should be a very competitive year for Division I girls in NCS.

If you want a jump on what HS teams are going to get a boost check the local JO teams, especially the Pleasanton Heat. Sophie Hartley has been a star there for the past few years. More stars are coming!

PS...Check out freshmen Gabe Arias-Sheridan at ST Joseph's, Aidan Goltra at Las Lomas, and Blair Hurlock at Tracy HS.
