For those of you that missed watching Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, here is a clip from his show about how chicken nuggets are made.  You should know what you are eating.

Food is your fuel during your races.  Make sure you are putting in the right fuel in your body.  There are much better choices than fast food.

Shannon Rowbury 8:31 3k!!!!!!!!! Only Americans ahead of her are Mary Decker/Slaney and Regina Jacobs... I think it is safe to say she is at least #2 all time, if not the American record holder!!

Its been a long time and a big improvement from her high school days. Who to say she isn't dirty? Call me a pessimist but at this point pros are dirty until proven clean, especially those under Alberto Sal.

That's the nature of the beast now in the sport of track and field. Most professional athletes who run extremely well are automatically under suspicion. Time and time again we unfortunately get let down by runners who we think are clean and end up being tainted. It's a jaded view of the sport and sports in general but history is not on the side of athletes participating fairly.

Hard work, persistance and perseverence are the "drugs" which Shannon works with. Shannon is not one of Alberto's athletes. Her coach is John Cook. I can tell you that her workouts sometimes run 3-4 hours long and there are frequently 2 per day. She has not been injured in 3 years and she is one of the greatest attenders to detail in every aspect of her training that I have ever seen. Hard work = 8:31.
