too hard to compare times across divisions. i was there from 11:00-3:30 pm, and it was a lot worse in the afternoon.

No question.

It is still very difficult to compare all the top teams and individuals due to sickness, injuries, heat etc.

We'll see what I can come up for NorCal rankings.

exactly, there were many people who dropped out of races too or just struggled to finish because of exhaustion due to heat and other things.

for example, i would still consider marissa ferrante one of the best runners in norcal even though she did not have the best performance at stanford.

heat also affects some people more than others and so stanford is a helpful tool but not always the best basemark for rankings.

It is good for rankings today...but not as an end all prediction for the final rankings come November. State is still 2 months away and the teams that are planning on making it there are still working hard right now.

While it is usually much cooler for CCS, we cannot eliminate heat from the ranking argument, if you remember it was quite hot at CCS last year too.

Still some teams got on the radar like Notre Dame Salinas and Scotts Valley.

Any word on Carondolet? They were listed in D2 and seeded race, but no show? What's up there?

Carondelet ran at the Westmoor HS Ram Invitational on Saturday. They won the 2nd girls' varsity race over an always competitive Del Oro team. Heather Cerney and Nicole Hood both ran which bodes well for Carondelet.
