What school calls the above "interesting" track, home?

Correct you are. I had never seen that track until today. I guess that is a pretty good use of space (save for the baseball field on the infield...:D).

Emery HS in Emeryville is still my favorite. Football, Softball and Baseball in the middle.... you can't see from the picture, but it also goes uphill and downhill.

Albert: check out Riordan's track...a classic! I'm noit sure what shape it is, but there are multiple extra turns. During our dual meet this year there were baseball guys throwing in their outfield...which was also the discus sector! From the finish line you can't see any of the runners or the starter at the 200, only the smoke from the starter's pistol! Patrick

You should see Berean's "track". Let's just say that installing a nice track wasn't the school's priority. It's about 350ish meters and has corners. Not turns, but corners. No joke.

I run on this track everyday after school. From experience, a three-cornered track is best. A runner may better utilize three straight track sections rather than the conventional two. It also confuses the hell out of visiting teams. Also, if you like to run against wind, this is the best track to run; as a runner reaches their last 100m, buildings and trees funnel the wind down the track perfectly. Let me also add that a baseball flying across the track may cleanly knock-out opponent runners during a league meet.

Dan,

I would kill to have a triangular track on our campus since we have NO track.

Trust me, enjoy what you have as it seems you are doing.
