With no Nicole Hood, the top 2 girls are locks (Diana George-defending champion and Jacque Taylor). My wild card is Grace Orders of Campolindo who has run 11:13 this year.

For the boys, this could be one of the most competitive MOCs in recent memory. I think this could be a race that has a string of 7-8 athletes in contention with a lap to go. My wild card is Skyler Thomas of Mendocino who ran 4:22 at the Class A Meet and is just focusing on the 3200m.

Should be two excellent races!

Watch out for Skylar Thomas of Medocino. I have raced against him several times and he is amazing. Mentally he believes he can stay with any runner and has shown that no matter what the pace he can force his body to run it.

The best runners that no one is talking about; Robert Pulford, Erik Olson, Alex Summers. Look for all three of those runners to go sub 9:30. Look for Pulford and Olson to be in the low 9:20s.

German just ran a 4:07/8:44 double at the SJS masters meet. WHAT A STUD!!!!

Albert Caruana said...

That is an outstanding double but if anybody saw him shatter the course record at Woodward, what he did yesterday is not surprising.

I hope he does double at state. I want to see him race Mac Fleet who I know will push him. I don't see anybody in the state that can challenge him in the 3200, fresh or not.

I agree. That would be an awsome race between those two.

and the winner is...

I picked George in both girls' races and she ran superbly again at the MOC.

Thomas was an easy pick in the boys' 800. Litwiller was a surprise winner in the 1600m. but he did run fairly conservative in the trials.

I thought he boys' 3200m. would be the most competitive of them all and it turned out to be quite a race. Landrum hung in there long enough to kick to victory and Duffy and Beach went for it both trying to win the race. Leng hung on gamely for that last elusive state meet spot.

I am not sure what happened to Skyler Thomas that forced him to drop out. Good attempt by him. Watch out for Thomas, Olson and Pulford next year.

I say watch out for Lockert..... 9:31 after double....Never really put himself in race.
